Air Gun Designs says there is a need for paintball markers that have an accurate high rate of fire. This is why they decided to create the Automag. When it comes to close combat, the Automag out shoots any other gun on the market. We can safely say the Automag, with its high rate of fire and extreme accuracy, is one of the better guns in tournament play. However, the Automag has trouble with distance shooting, but to the close range firing of a flag man for example, the Automag is a great choice. One disadvantage with the automag, is that it really needs to be run on compressed air. After about 5-6 quick shots the regulator freezes up causing the gun to fail and not shoot properly. If you want an automag you will need a nitrogen system or a ton of expansion chambers. Also if you are a CO2 user, you will have great difficulty in cooler weather. Overall, the automag is reliable with the right set up. The automag has been used in tournaments, but not as widely as the autococker. In terms of cutomizability, the automag can only be customized to a certain degree, not as much as other guns on the market. But if you want a hassle free, dependable gun, go with the mag. It's not as complex as many other guns, so there is a less possibility of something going wrong...
